Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 3, 2026
1. Our Data Philosophy
"No Logins, No Account Tracking"
OpenStream is built with a privacy-first mindset. We do not require, collect, or store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number.
2. Local Data Storage & Sovereignty
Your personal app activity remains strictly on your device.
- Stored Data: Your podcast subscriptions, playback history, and downloaded episodes are stored locally.
- Mechanism: Data is kept in a secure local database (Room DB) and is never uploaded to our servers.
- Data Sovereignty: You own your data. You can use the OPML Export feature at any time to move your subscriptions to any other platform.
3. Technical Analytics & Third-Party Services
To ensure app stability and improve quality, we use a limited set of services:
- Firebase Analytics: We use this to measure app performance and debug crashes. All collected data is strictly anonymized and technical in nature (e.g., installation counts, feature interaction frequency) and cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Radio-Browser & iTunes API: We utilize public APIs for radio and podcast discovery. While search queries are sent to these services to provide results, they are not linked to any user identity and are not stored by us.
4. Data Deletion
You can clear your entire playback history at any time within the app settings. Deleting the OpenStream app will immediately and permanently erase all data associated with the application from your device.
