🛡️ Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 17, 2026
OpenStream ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have complete control over your data. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in our decentralized podcast and radio application.
1. 🛡️ Privacy-First Philosophy
OpenStream is built on the principle of Data Sovereignty. Our core goal is to provide a premium audio experience without tracking your identity or listening habits.
- No Accounts: We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or log in.
- Local-First Data: Your subscriptions, listening history, bookmarks, and downloads are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this information.
2. 📊 Information Collection and Use
A. Performance and Stability Data
To ensure the app remains healthy and reliable across different devices, we use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. This data is:
- Anonymous: It does not identify you personally.
- Technical Focus: We collect data on app crashes, performance bottlenecks, and general feature usage.
- Opt-Out: You can disable this telemetry at any time in the app Settings.
B. Third-Party Services
- Podcast RSS Feeds: Connecting to feeds provided by creators may expose your IP address to those creators' servers.
- Radio discovery: We use the decentralized Radio-Browser.info API.
- Artwork: Artwork is fetched directly from source servers.
3. 💾 Data Retention & Portability
Your data stays on your device as long as the app is installed. You can use OPML Support to move your subscriptions elsewhere, and deleting the app removes all local data.
4. 👶 Children's Privacy
OpenStream does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
